THE DAILYS PROJECT : How it works.
Everyday, I create an artwork. What this work is can vary wildly in material and subject. Once the art is made, I share it online. The first person to claim the work, can have it, just be sure you have fully read what the project requests.
To claim this work, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Therians gather at the new tree.
Therianthropes are a mixed morphotype beings, whose origin is in every archaic culture. Early art forms the world over show these chimerical forms as an intergral component to the spirit world of our ancestors. The subject at hand is shape-shifting, the metamorphosis of a human being into animals or mythic beasts. It is a murky realm, with many nuances to the meaning, history, and modern practice.
It is this artist opinion that shape-shifting is a psychological act, the effect of which can be greatly increased by physical props and costumes to enrich the experience. The human being, through ritual, and conscious use of the imagination can assume the habits, movements, and senses of other creatures. Reality is a personal perception, and if a being alters that perception they alter reality. What we deem as real is a matter of consensus, and the history will show any clever investigator that the fantastical can become sensible through ritual and connection to ecologyy, especially if this consensual reality is reinforced through social codes of behaviour. These shape-shifting rituals do exactly that. This connection to nature through assumed senses and animal identity helps to bind the human being to the planet and ties them into the ecology in a way that sustains life.
It is no wonder that as the Earth continues to be ravaged and torn apart that human beings are called to identify with non-human consciousness. This return to an archaic value of a being tied in directly to its environment is part of a larger shift underway in our species. In coming years we can expect to see an increase in the number of people identifying as therian, as well as a return to ritual in religious systems. It will seem scary at first as old culture must accommodate such new and novel lifestyles. But an important thing to remember is that the archaic values ARE the mother culture, and perhaps it’s not the end of cultural norms, but rather a falling away of separation/dominator programs of social control that have been at the helm of human identity for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. The ritual effects of our early spirituality resonates inside of us, and tempting those influences invokes a great transformative power.
From The Sorcerer of Ariege to the Otherkin in modern cities, therianism is a defining element of how a human being relates to the environment . The desire to be “other” is a deep psychical agency that will continue to shape who we are, and how we relate in a world increasingly strange, yet familiar.
Today’s art work is directly inspired by my thoughts and insirations from a study and participation in therian systems. It was my path into perfomance art that made the phenomenon conscious in me. Many of my current psychedellic explorations explore the reality of imaginive shape-shifting and intra-species communication.
I will ship the work to you on the condition that you must send me something back in return. It’s really a bizarre experiment in art, community, and trust. It excites and inspires. If you claim an artwork, in your email please include your shipping address, and maybe a little bit on why you want the artwork. I will email you back, and ship the art 🙂 This project last 365 days and ends December 7, 2017.
